2015 COLOR OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED!

It's official: global color authority Pantone has announced that the 2015 Color of the Year will be "Marsala", a deep, rich wine tone. Pantone say's of the color,

"Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing."

The blogosphere immediately erupted with some less-than-satisfied commentary. After 2012's Tangerine Tango, 2013's Emerald, and 2014's Radiant Orchid, Marsala is getting knocked as downright boring.

I'm not a slave to trends (I anticipate several more years of wear from my favorite Tangerine Tango dress I bought a few years back), but I have to say I'm downright thrilled to see this deep, dramatic, elegant shade of red taking center stage!

Here are a few peices to bring your wardrobe up-to-date, sustainable style ;)
