Meet The Model: Maddie Brisbane

Meet Maddie Brisbane. She’s one of our gorgeous models here at Ash & Rose and a stellar human being as well. Maddie is a yogi and has taught classes right here in the store for Go Spacing (you can sign up for classes here: https://gospacing.com/practice/ ). She also has a tent here at our local open market SOWA where she sells her handmade jewelry called Earthwoven Crystals. I sat down with Maddie to ask her some questions about herself and her must have accessory for the summer.

So you’re a yogi. What’s your favorite yoga position and why?

Dancer’s pose - I love a juicy heart opener & this pose makes me feel like I’m aiming my arrow towards freedom (I’m a Sagittarius if you couldn’t tell from that statement.)

Can you tell us a little bit about your company Earthwoven Crystals?

I’d love to! Earthwoven Crystals is a one-woman business I started in 2015 after traveling abroad to Australia, where I started getting into Crystals. It started out as a creative outlet, and shortly after I started selling them to family and friends. It’s been growing very organically, and I’m having a lot of fun with it. Each piece includes a healing gemstone wrapped in hand-knotted macrame. I make each wrap myself and charge, cleanse, and hand pick all of the stones. Everything is available online (www.earthwovencrystals.com), at a handful of yoga studios, and at local markets throughout the city during the warm months!

What’s the best place you’ve ever travelled to?

That’s a tough one. It’s a tie between Byron Bay, Australia & Cape Town, South Africa.

What’s your favorite kind of crystal?

It changes all the time. Right now I’m loving Aquamarine, Blue Lace Agate and Apatite.

Why do you love living in Boston?

I love how it’s so walkable, and not super chaotic. I adore the brownstones and all of the gorgeous greenery we have. Being by the water is also awesome, and the fact that it’s only a short drive from my family’s home on Cape Cod is a huge perk!

What’s your must have accessory this summer?

A mini backpack or chic fanny pack for adventures!
