As Seen On... Africancocktail
Binja brings light, love and positive energy to every room she enters. We had a fantastic time shooting with the fashion, lifestyle and travel blogger Binja, aka The African Cocktail. If you need a dash of creativity, a sprinkle of positivity and a strong shot of motivation, Binja is your lady. Her blog is as bold and beautiful as she is and full of great advice for living your most fabulous life!
Binja is known for her breath taking statement skirts for every occasion, and we were so honored she chose this look from our shoot to kick off her '30 Skirts in 30 Days' feature on her blog! Here she is rocking the Lyla Ruffle Maxi Skirt beautifully paired with the Kenzie Blouse and one of our favorite P Squared necklaces which will be available online soon! Binja writes "So here we are with the first of 30 looks! It’s a look I call Sunday Best, which is inspired by the poet Drake from his famous piece Elevate. He says, “I wanna thank God for workin’ way harder than Satan. He’s playin’ favorites, it feels amazin.” This look encapsulates the essence of this quote. It’s been a long year folks and nothing says perspective than choosing joy even in tough situations because – and I will allow all the church folk to join me here in quoting the verse (Romans 8:28) that says – all things work together for good for them that love the Lord. And the church said ‘Amen’. Also, it doesn’t hurt to flex when God has been this good to you!"

Binja thoroughly accessorized all of her looks with handmade jewelry and this resulted in completely polished looks. She brought the glam with this black and gold ensemble. The Angela Dress from People Tree UK serves as the perfect silky back drop for our Ash & Rose Collection Embroidered Shawl Collar Coat which was hand made in very limited quantities in our Boston boutique. The Small Geo Tube Necklace stacked with the Large Geo Tube Necklace, the Axis Cuff Bracelet and the Lamai Brass Earrings polish off this gorgeous look.
After all of her black, white and gold polished looks Binja decided to go for more earth tones and hand woven natural elements in her final look. The recycled, zero waist and handwoven Jacket is the centerpiece of this head turning eco-chic look. The Mira Trousers give this look an interesting silhouette while letting her fabulous leopard print stilettos shine! We love how she used the Envelope Clutch to continue the leopard print aesthetic throughout the outfit and the Palette Top to tie it all together. (If you're in love with this top, hurry! We only have one left in stock.)
