WARDROBE WEDNESDAY! FIRST EDITION

We're starting a new tradition for 2015 - every Wednesday we're going to post an outfit, modeled by our staff, customers, bloggers and guest stylists!

We'll start things off with me, Mary, co-founder and buyer here at Ash & Rose. I manage our online shop and scout out all of our awesome designers, so by definition I love everything in our whole collection...making it tough to pick the perfect outfit to share with you! I decided to go with the pieces I've been gravitating to over and over again this season, and put them together into one look.

It begins with what I like to call the Yoga Pants of Skirts - the Brixton Maxi. People - this is one COMFORTABLE skirt. It has an elastic waistband, and a side slit that looks great with my favorite 10-year-old leather boots. I've worn this skirt out to dinner, to family parties, and just lounging around the house. It goes with just about everything. I add thick knit tights underneath to keep me warm in the winter.

On top, I'm wearing our bamboo satin Pintuck Blouse. Confession time - this blouse is one of the few pieces in our collection that you really shouldn't put in the washing machine, but I did it anyway. It did shrink, but now I just wear it with cuffed sleeves! It's elegant and drapey and accents the waist without being super tight. It has a subtle sheen that makes it a little dressy, but not too fancy to wear with a pair of jeans.

To finish things off, I added two of my favorite Faire Collection styles, the Deco Shellstud earrings and the Leaf Pendant necklace. They're made in Ecuador from upcycled bull horn, which gives them amazing natural texture and shine. The earrings are painted metallic bronze on the back, and the necklace is on a sparkly gold chain. I love the mix of shine with natural, earthy texture.
