New Mama Style with Sung Lun

Sung is quite possibly one of the most beautiful people, inside and out, that I have ever met. She’s a realtor, a life coach, and now a full time mom to the absolutely precious Evangelina. Sung’s favorite part of being a life coach is the ability to see the human growth potential, and push people past what they believe to be their growth limitations. Growing up in a dysfunctional family, Sung was always fascinated by why people are the way that they are, and the effects of growing up in different environments.

Becoming a mother has definitely made Sung feel more empathetic and compassionate, which will help her with her life coaching business. She is able to better understand the core basic needs of people.

Motherhood can be wonderful, however it is anything but easy. Sung described how for the first 3 ½ months of Evangelina’s life, she would not sleep for more than an hour. Sung would feed her for an hour, then sleep for an hour, 24 hours a day, for 14 weeks straight. If that isn’t impressive enough, she also has to keep Evangelina entertained while keeping up with her own life, (sleeping, cooking, cleaning, doing real estate, helping her parents retire, etc.). Sung tries to do it all by multitasking, she takes her baby with her and tries to keep her busy while she works. Sung must be fast and efficient, which is rarely easy with a 5 month old at your side.

Her advice to new mom’s is to dress comfortable! You never know when your baby is going to need to eat, so if you can’t bend or stretch the fabric, it’s just not going to work. She recommends clothing that is flexible, to make your life easier. To make an outfit more exciting, she likes to accessorize! Fun jewelry can always spice up an outfit without making it impractical for mom life. Sung’s go to’s are cute (but comfortable) flip flops, a little lip gloss, and some eye shadow.

When I asked Sung about her experience at Ash & Rose, she actually began to tear up as she smiled and exclaimed what a wonderful experience she had. She felt so welcomed the moment she stepped in the store, and could feel the love radiating from the staff as we all cooed over her sweet baby girl. She commented on how she had modeled in her 20s, and how the industry was very cold and image based. She always had to worry about looking “perfect”, how skinny she was, etc.

“Here [at Ash & Rose], you can come as you are [and] fit in the clothes that look best on you, [there is just] a lot more flexibility and acceptance".
